| A copy of a surviving helmet (Wallace Collection a82)
The original has been preserved in excellent condition in its original painting. This copy was painted by Rafal Szwelicki using paints and painting techniques used at the time of the original.The salade was produced in Germany around 1500. Sheet thickness used - 2.5mm, 2.0mm and 1.2mm. Surface is hammered, sanded, hammer marks left (*6), then painted with paint. Product is not welded.

| English sallet based on Coventry sallet (1460). High bowl with the tip is characteristic for french fashion. The bowl is made of one piece of 2.5mm thick steel, forehead plate 1.5mm and the visor 2mm. Surface is hammered, sanded, there are hammer marks left (*6). Product is non-welded.

The bowl of the helmet was made of one piece of steel - 2,5mm thick, and the visor - 2mm. The whole is hammered, and then sanded and polished by hand (*2). Product is non-welded.

| Italian sallet for export. This popular pattern is well known from iconographic sources and preserved original items. The bowl is hammered of one 3mm steel piece, visor of 2mm steel. The whole is hammered, and then sanded and polished by hand (*2). Pictures 7-12 show process of helmet's producing. You can find more in category "My workshop". This work has taken me about 6 weeks.
